By Andrea Potashnick Written Tuesday, August 8 I'm sure many of you are aware of the bombing at Al Farooq Islamic Center in Bloomington over the weekend. On Friday morning I will be dropping off flowers and a handwritten letter from my family. I thought more people from our community might be interested in doing the same as a show of support and solidarity. These can be notes that you write yourself, or perhaps along with your kids if you'd like. I've spoken to Janice Schachtman, Gan Shelanu Preschool Director, and she has put out a basket by the Gan office at Adath if you want to drop letters off. If anyone is interested in helping out, it would be great if more people could help to coordinate gathering more letters. Or if you would like to meet me on Friday morning at the Mosque, please let me know at this email I've created just for this event: [email protected] I will head to the Mosque at at 9:30 Friday morning. I realize many of you may not be able to get me a letter in time. If you send them to this event email [email protected] by Thursday evening, I'll make sure to print it out and include it with the rest of the letters. Let me know if you have any questions or if you would be willing and able to assist with this. Thanks everyone!
