Service Scholarships for Jewish Summer Camp or
Israel Programs June 2024 – May 2025 Now Open!
Now is the time to plan for Jewish summer camp and Israel programs. Adath Jeshurun Congregation annually awards Merit and Financial Aid Scholarships to encourage participation by Adath students in Jewish summer camp and Israel programs. Students should apply beginning December1st for an Adath scholarship if they plan to attend the following approved programs between June 2024 and May 2025:
Scholarship materials are available online at www.adathjeshurun.org. Note that Adath has its own scholarship application. Students who apply for aid elsewhere using the Minneapolis Jewish Federation community application also need to complete the Adath application. Additional scholarship assistance is also available directly from individual camps, programs in Israel, the Minneapolis Jewish Federation and Jewish Family Children’s Service of Minneapolis.

- Camp Ramah
- Ramah Israel Pilgrimage
- USY Summer in Israel Program
- Young Judea camps or programs in Israel
- Herzl Camp
- Camp Chi
- High school programs in Israel sponsored or endorsed by the Conservative Movement, such as Ramah or USY, Alexander Muss High School in Israel and BBYO.

Adath USY
Open to grades 9-12, Adath USY is a Jewish Youth Group within the international USY organization. USY is a fun way for Jewish teens to form friendships, learn more about their religion and culture, and become leaders in their community. USY meets during the school year for weekly Tuesday lounges and various weekend programs. To join us at Regional and International events, you must be a member of Adath USY.

TEN@Adath - Teen Educational Network at Adath
Open to grades 9-12, Ten@Adath is our congregation-based experiential learning program, providing a dynamic space for teens to deepen their Jewish identity, expand their learning and connect with ancient wisdom in the world around us. Cost: $265. Ten@Adath school year runs September 2024 through May 2025. Classes for 9th and 10th graders are scheduled to be held in-person at Adath. Classes for 11th and 12th graders are held remotely and scheduled with Talmud Torah of St. Paul's Midrasha Online Teen Learning.

Tuesday evenings from 6:00 pm - 7 pm beginning September 2024 through May 2025 (exact dates will follow).
Tuesday evening class is followed by USY lounge night from 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm.
9th grade Class: Big questions on theology, leadership and life - with Hazzan Dulkin
10th grade Class: Confirmation - Getting Beyond your Jewish ABCs: Power and Responsibility in a Changing World - with Rabbi Weininger
11th - 12th grade Class: As our 11th and 12th graders explore their Jewish identity and robust Jewish learning opportunities, preparing for a world beyond high school, we encourage our 11th and 12th graders to enroll in the education courses offered by Talmud Torah of St. Paul's Midrasha Online Teen Learning. College credit for Hebrew course taught with Midrasha. (Days of the week for scheduled course varies by course.)

Shabbat Morning Program
SMP is the cornerstone of educating our young congregants. All children entering 5th grade and above who plan to celebrate a B'nai Mitzvah at Adath Jeshurun are required to attend the program for 5th–7th Graders. Please contact Cantor Heather Seid at [email protected] with any questions.

Shabbat Morning Program Teen Tutors
8th Graders: This program starts students on the road to becoming SMP staff. The curriculum includes Ethics - emphasizing the Ethics of Speech, "Shmirat Lashon," leadership skills and tzedakah that inform their role as mentors of younger students; and a review of their prayer and Torah skills.

This vital role engages these teens in Jewish life and teaches them responsibility, and the value of passing on our traditions. Service-based scholarships for Jewish summer camps and Israel trips are available to teens who serve as SMP staff.
