We've got a great year in store for our education hours during our time together between September 2025 and May 2026. The goal of our youth programs is to continue your child(ren)’s Jewish education, make new friends and strengthen existing relationships.

SMP is the cornerstone of educating our young congregants. All children entering 5th grade and above who plan to celebrate a B'nai Mitzvah at Adath Jeshurun are required to attend the program for 5th–7th Graders. Please contact Cantor Heather Seid at [email protected] with any questions.

8TH GRADERS DURING SMP
The Howie Stillman 8th Grade Leadership Program
Utilizing Moving Traditions’ curriculum, “Teaching the TA’s,” these eight sessions engages teens in how to teach, tutor, and work with younger students, providing leadership skills that will be valuable for these growing leaders. Free to register.
Shevet and Rosh Chodesh for 8th Graders
Utilizing Moving Traditions’ Shevet groups (teen boys*) and Rosh Hodesh groups (teen girls*), students gather over the course of nine sessions with an adult mentor using a dynamic curriculum as they experience a brave, sacred space for them to articulate their deepest concerns, consider the impact of gender norms on their daily lives, celebrate and support together through joys and challenges, be their authentic selves with their peers, and explore topics that matter most to them. *All of our teen groups are safe and inclusive spaces for youth to join as they self-identify. Nonbinary teens are welcome in whatever space they feel most comfortable. Free to register.

A hallmark of our Saturday Morning Program is our group of talented Teen Tutors who are dedicated to helping the next group of B’nai Mitzvah be successful. Be a part of Adath’s future as you learn how to teach, be a part of creating an engaging learning environment, and earn service hours applicable to camp scholarships. Leadership opportunities. Rooted in our rich textual tradition and topics of interest shared by the teens, participants will enrich their Judaic knowledge with opportunities for sharing, learning, and self-reflection. Six sessions. Free to register.

SHabbat morning program TEEN TUTORS
8th Graders: This program starts students on the road to becoming SMP staff. The curriculum includes Ethics - emphasizing the Ethics of Speech, "Shmirat Lashon," leadership skills and tzedakah that inform their role as mentors of younger students; and a review of their prayer and Torah skills.
9th-12th Graders: It is a proud Adath tradition for teens to serve as SMP staff. This vital role engages these teens in Jewish life and teaches them responsibility, and the value of passing on our traditions. Service-based scholarships for Jewish summer camps and Israel trips are available to teens who serve as SMP staff. USY

Adath USY is a Jewish Youth Group for grades 8-12 within the international USY organization and our region Emtza USY. USY is a fun way for Jewish teens to form friendships, learn more about their religion and culture, and become leaders in their community. USY meets during the school year for weekly Tuesday lounges and various weekend programs.
