November is Hesed’s “Giving Circle Celebration” month

As we approach the end of our third year of the Giving Circle, we would like to celebrate our victories and spread the word about the Giving Circle so that we can do even more next year.

Since the Giving Circle’s inception 3 years ago, we have significantly increased the amount of help we have been able to give our 3 partner food shelves, PRISM, ICA and STEP, as well as our partner organizations Our Saviour’s Shelter and Loaves & Fishes. Just this past year, our Giving Circle members donated enough funds to provide generous checks to all 3 food shelves in March, for MN Food Share month, and we will be able to do that again in November. We also provided funding for Loaves & Fishes and, with the help of the congregation, monthly dinners to Our Saviour’s Shelter. Our congregants have donated 160 bags of clothing and household items to PRISM’s Shop for Change. So many people have benefited from your help.

Let’s celebrate! This year our celebration will be in 3 parts as we visit each of the food shelves. We will be volunteering a bit of time, hanging with friends and presenting the final 2018 check to the head of each food shelf. Come to one, two or all of them. It’s a great way to let your family see the benefit of Tikkun Olam at Adath.

Prism’s Giving Circle celebration will be on Thursday, November 15, 5:00 – 7:30 pm at Prism.

ICA’s celebration will take place on Sunday, November 18, 12:00 – 2:00 pm at the ICA K-Tel location.

STEP’s Giving Circle celebration will take place Monday, November 26 from 6:30- 8:00 pm at STEP.

This celebration will be the start of our 4th year. We’d love to increase our participation even further in the future. There are many ways to get involved:

• Donate a minimum of $36.00 to Hesed by sending a check to the office with “Hesed” in the memo field or GO ONLINE
• VOLUNTEER for a total of 3 hours at one or more of the food shelves
• Donate a bag of clothes or household items to PRISM’s Shop for Change and let us know how many bags you donated by emailing [email protected].
