Yad Sima Tova (Caring Community)
Yad Sima Tova, Adath’s Outreach Caring Community, takes a collaborative approach to meet the health and healing needs of our community. As life spans increase, our congregants’ needs will become greater. This committee is making long-range plans and developing programs that will make a difference and reaching out to Adath members and their families who need help, support and encouragement.
Yad Sima Tova is named in memory of Susan Himmelman Shapiro, after her Hebrew name.
SEEKING KNITTERS AND CROCHETERS!
Adath’s Outreach Caring Community: Yad Simad Tova
is looking for volunteers to knit or crochet healing scarves for members
who are experiencing a serious illness or a challenging recovery.
You can help with this project from just about anywhere. Your healing
scarf should be 10 – 12 inches wide by 60 inches (5 feet) long and
should be made with washable yarn and crafted with love. Use your
favorite pattern and have fun with it.
Once you are finished with your handmade healing scarf, bring it to the
Adath office. Our clergy will attach an acknowledgement card and
bring it to someone in need. Your name will go on the card indicating
your caring effort on their behalf. It will say...
“This healing scarf has been handmade with love and caring by___________.”
