Ensuring the Solid Foundation of Adath Jeshurun
"Adath's Foundation is our Foundation for the future. - Sheri and Steve Lear
We did not only decide to include Adath Jeshurun in our estate plan just because our children established lifelong friendships at Gan Shelanu. Nor was our decision made only in recognition of the leadership skills they gained through their involvement in USY. Our decision was not just a response to the pride we felt each time we watched one of our children become a bar/bat mitzvah after years of being taught and nurtured by our incredible teachers and clergy. It was not totally the result of the comfort we feel as a family within the walls of our congregation, whether in a classroom, the choir loft, the sanctuary, the library or the social hall. We made this important decision to support Adath's future for all of these reasons, and so many more. |
We were further inspired by the words inscribed over the Ark in our sanctuary: Ufros aleinu sukkat shlomecha—Spread over us the shelter of Your peace. These words serve as a constant reminder of God's presence in our lives. People, like buildings, need a solid foundation to survive life's storms.
Adath Jeshurun has stood strong for 125 years, providing a spiritual shelter for generations of families. Including Adath in our estate plan gives us the comfort of knowing that Adath will continue to serve this vital role in our community for generations to come.
