Summer Camps and Israel Trips
2021-2022 Scholarship Applications are Now OpenScholarships for Jewish Summer Camp/Israel Programs June, 2021–May, 2022
Now is the time to plan for Jewish summer camp and Israel programs. Adath Jeshurun Congregation annually awards Merit and Financial Aid Scholarships to encourage participation by Adath students in Jewish summer camp and Israel programs. The preferred programs are those offered through the Conservative Movement. Students should apply beginning December 1 for an Adath scholarship if they plan to attend the following approved programs between June, 2021 and May, 2022: · Camp Ramah · Ramah Israel Pilgrimage · USY Summer in Israel Program · Young Judea camps or programs in Israel · Herzl Camp · Camp Chi · High school programs in Israel sponsored or endorsed by the Conservative Movement, such as Ramah or USY, and Alexander Muss High School in Israel. Awards for service to our Adath community are available for those applicants who are active participants in Shabbat Morning Program, B’Yachad Sunday Program, or other approved volunteer roles at Adath. Merit scholarships are available for students who have celebrated their Bar/Bat Mitzvah by June, 2021. Financial aid is also available for those applicants whose families demonstrate financial need in order to attend approved programs. Scholarship materials are available here or in the Adath office. Note that Adath has its own scholarship application. Students who apply for aid elsewhere using the Minneapolis Jewish Federation community application also need to complete the Adath application. Additional scholarship assistance is also available directly from individual camps, programs in Israel, the Minneapolis Jewish Federation and Jewish Family Children’s Service of Minneapolis. Note: In the event that Jewish summer camps and Programs in Israel are cancelled because of the pandemic, no scholarship distributions will be made. Also, scholarship funds for last years’ summer camps and Programs in Israel which were not distributed due to the pandemic, remain in the Adath Foundation and will not be awarded retroactively for last year. |
