A Letter From Hazzan Dulkin
Dear Adath Community,
I’m writing to share that I will be taking a Sabbatical this winter, the first in my 20+ year career. I am so grateful to this wonderful congregation and its leadership for giving me this opportunity.
My Sabbatical will take place from December 10, 2025 - March 10, 2026, followed by the Soul Sisters Italy Trip through March 26. During this time, our incredible clergy team and staff will cover my responsibilities with their usual care and dedication. I’m so thankful for their partnership and support.
My plan for the time away is simple: to take the time to draw inspiration from the music and prayer being led by my many talented colleagues and friends around the country. As of now, I am planning trips to Los Angeles, New York, D.C., and Chicago in order to experience the beauty of Shabbat as a participant in the communities that inspire me. Throughout my travels, spiritual journeying, and sacred conversations with these colleagues, I hope to collect inspiration, repertoire, and techniques to bring home to Adath.
I view this Sabbatical time as a gift of time and space. In taking a break from my usual routine, I hope to return refreshed, inspired, and even more present for all of you - my beloved congregation. While I will miss you, I know this time away will help me return even more present and inspired. I look forward to reconnecting at the end of March with stories, music, and renewed energy for the sacred work ahead.
If you have any questions before December 10, please reach out to me directly. During my Sabbatical, Paula Hance ([email protected] or 952.215.3925) will be available to assist with any needs or inquiries.
With gratitude and blessings,
