The event:
Hazzan Dulkin will be participating in an upcoming concert with a local choir Kantorei, who will be singing a world premiere piece of music for Chanukah that was commissioned by Adath. The piece, entitled “Lighting Our Way: A New Hanerot Hallalu” was composed by Hazzan Dulkin’s colleague, teacher and friend Cantor Gerald Cohen, who has been chosen by Kantorei as this year’s Composer in Residence.

Adath is partnering with Kantorei on the premiere and the commission of the new piece, which will be professionally recorded when Cantor Cohen is back in the Twin Cities in February. We will welcome Cantor Cohen to Adath for the Shabbat of Feb. 21-22 as a Scholar in Residence - stay tuned for more details.

Making a contribution:
Participate in Adath’s Hanukkah Gift: New Music! Adath is commissioning a new piece of music from acclaimed composer and upcoming Scholar in Residence Cantor Gerald Cohen just in time for Hanukkah. We invite the Adath community to be part of this historic new piece of music by making a contribution to the project. Think of it as a Hanukkah gift to our congregation! The piece, a fresh interpretation of Hanerot Hallalu called Lighting Our Way will have its World Premiere in December, where Hazzan Dulkin will perform along with Kantorei at their Winter concert, and will be professionally recorded in February. Every amount matters, and all donors will be acknowledged!
