We are delighted to share an important leadership announcement about Adath’s future. After more than two years of extraordinary service as Executive Director, Susan Geller will retire on December 31, 2026. Susan has made a remarkable impact at Adath through her visionary and strategic leadership, bringing focus, discipline, and organizational strength to all that she does with great kavod (respect). Perhaps her greatest legacy is the talented team she has built and developed. We are deeply grateful for her leadership and all she has done to position us for a strong future.
It is with great pride and excitement that we share that Talor Blustin, our Director of Philanthropy and Foundation, has been named Adath’s next Executive Director, beginning January 1, 2027. Over his six years at Adath, Talor has grown into an exceptional organizational leader with a deep understanding of our community and a proven ability to build relationships, bring people together around a shared vision, and turn ideas into action. His leadership reflects both heart and discipline – a commitment to hospitality and belonging, strong stewardship of our resources, a belief in shared ownership and accountability, and an instinct for building trust across staff, clergy, lay leaders, and community members. Susan informed the board of her plans to retire in March, allowing ample time to plan a strong transition. Following a thoughtful internal search and thorough interview process, there was strong alignment around Talor as the right leader for Adath’s next chapter. We are especially grateful to Shep Harris (Board Secretary), David Orbuch (Foundation President and Adath Past President), Drea Lear (Board VP of Philanthropy), and Chris Kellogg (Adath Past President) for the care and thoughtfulness they brought to that process. Hineinu. We are here, growing and thriving. Talor has grown up in the community, built his career here at Adath, and, in his own words, “wants to grow old with us.” Over the coming months, we will develop a transition plan to prepare Talor for his new role and ensure a strong handoff of leadership. We look forward to celebrating Susan and her remarkable contributions in the months ahead, and to welcoming Talor into this new role with joy, confidence, and excitement for Adath’s future.
