Martin and Bonnie Bush Continue to Support the Needs of the Community
It is a rare and special gift to have a family that has watched the walls of our congregation go up, come down, and go up again. Martin and Bonnie Bush have not only done just that but continue to bless us with their support of the Adath community to this day.
In 1973, Marty was a champion behind the Kallah Retreat Center Campaign and again in the early 1990's played an important role in the building of Adath's current home in Minnetonka. A self-made businessman, he acknowledges the wear and tear that can occur in a building over time. The Bushes are well aware that Adath Jeshurun Congregation functions not only as a place for prayer, but as a beit midrash (a place of learning) for all ages, a beit knesset (community gathering place) and a center for life-cycle events. Each of these elements is an important factor in the preservation of our faith. The Bushes also know that communities that form around synagogues generally take care of one another. |
The Bushes understand that the synagogue's current home will soon be celebrating its eighteenth year. Marty and Bonnie just celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary and 46th year as members of the congregation. To honor this special occasion, they decided to establish a permanent named fund in the Adath Foundation. The Martin and Bonnie Bush Family Fund will support capital improvements and long term maintenance of the Adath Jeshurun Congregation synagogue building.
According to Marty, "we kvell (celebrate with happiness) at making this meaningful gift to our synagogue." We too celebrate the Bush family's commitment to ensuring the care and maintenance of our synagogue for this and future generations.
