Learn about Us
Gan Shelanu is the Adath Jeshurun Congregation’s early childhood program for children aged six weeks through preK.
The Gan, as it is affectionately called, provides a rich variety of learning experiences intended to stimulate the cognitive and social development of your child within a Jewish context. We work to instill in our students pride in their heritage and the importance of community and giving back. This can be seen from our school’s activities, such as singing for residents at Knollwood Place and Sholom Home; tzedakah projects including collecting pajamas for the Pediatric Oncology Unit at the University of Minnesota Hospitals and planting trees in Israel; and the coordination of Gan family volunteers who deliver Rosh Hashanah apple and honey baskets and Purim Mishloach Manot to Adath’s elderly and homebound congregants. All students at the Gan enjoy music sessions led by a music specialist. Our "older" students participate in special science and Hebrew curriculum.
When you enroll your child in any of Gan Shelanu’s programs, you become part of our community. By sharing holiday celebrations and watching your child learn Jewish customs and traditions, you and your child will make lifelong friends and become part of the larger Adath community.
Beit Tinokot, Infant Care
Your infant’s home away from home!
Gan Shelanu’s Beit Tinokot is comprised of two programs: the Infant Program and Transitional Toddler Program. Beit Tinokot offers a childcare setting where the staff is warm and caring; where your child is safe and nurtured; and where values and a supportive community help to make your child’s world a wonderful place.
Infant Program: Serving children 6 weeks-16 months. We strive to give infants as much freedom as possible to interact with their environment. We provide a warm, affectionate, stimulating, safe and fun setting where our youngest charges’ social, intellectual, physical and emotional needs are met. The babies receive individualized care in a surrounding filled with group play, storytime and music. The Infant Room provides a rich environment of learning materials, books and activities encouraging our babies to develop deeper and more complex understandings of the world around them. Our low staff ratio
(1 adult:3 children) allows our staff to interact with our youngest children on their level, providing a wonderful experience for our infants and peace of mind for parents. Infant parents can keep up with baby's day via Baby Connect, an app that allows families to view photos of their child throughout the day as well as keep in constantcontact with the Infant Room staff.
Transitional Toddler Program: When children turn 16 months old, they move to the Transitional Toddler Program. Children at this age transition from individualized care to becoming part of a group Their day consists of free play, circle time, art and large muscle activities. They eat and nap as a group.
Providing quality care before and after the school day!
