Adath Annual Benefit Honoring
Rabbi Harold Kravitz

Picture
Rabbi Harold Kravitz has served Adath Jeshurun Congregation since 1987 and has held the Max Newman Family Chair in Rabbinics since becoming Senior Rabbi in 1996. Named one of America's 36 Most Inspiring Rabbis by the Jewish Daily Forward in 2013, Rabbi Kravitz has devoted nearly four decades to compassionate, steady, and thoughtful leadership. Over the course of his career Rabbi Kravitz has served as the President of the Rabbinical Assembly and the chair of the board of MAZON: a Jewish Response to Hunger and has been engaged with strengthening the Masorti-Conservative Movement in Israel and around the world. At the end of May, Rabbi Kravitz steps down as Senior Rabbi, and will continue in an Emeritus role.

Rabbi Kravitz has been blessed with 43 years of marriage to his life partner, Cindy Reich, a Jewish educator. Both originally from Philadelphia, they have made their home here in Minnesota where they raised their children, Gabe, Talia, and Elana. Their family has grown to include daughter-in-law Yael Smiley and grandchildren Joshua and Yona Smiley Kravitz with whom they love playing the roles of Zaide and Bubby.
