SHABBAT EVENING
Every Friday evening we usher in Shabbat with a joyous and music-filled service.  Our Kabbalat Shabbat service features the warmth of the traditional Nusach Hatefilla (special music of the day).  The melodies are familiar and inviting.  Please join us for this traditional service and/or one of our special monthly services described below. All services begin at 6:00 PM. On Shabbat evening you can experience one of three different services:

Friday Night Live
About once a month we welcome Shabbat with a special Friday evening service.  Our choir or band enhances the service using music of some of America’s most talented singer-songwriters.  We also use the Hassidic style of repeating a melody over and over to release us from the confines of rationality and allow our creative-emotional side to come into play.

Allow the music to sweep you away, to bring you back into balance after being bombarded all week long with advertising, materialism and the shallow values of our popular culture.  Sing, dance, celebrate, meditate, find love, peace and rest on Shabbat.

Carlebach Service
Lift your spirits by attending one of our Friday evening Carlebach services.  The soul stirring niggunim (melodies) of the late Rabbi Shlomo Carlebach help us begin Shabbat with joy and devotion.

Traditional Service
On the other two Fridays of each month, we usher in Shabbat with a tranquil, traditional Kabbalat Shabbat Service.

Noah's Ark for Families with Young Children
Families with young children through five years are invited to a special Shabbat worship service just for them. The service is designed for the youngest family members with singing, stories and prayers in an appropriately short duration.

SHABBAT MORNING
Services begin at 9:30 AM, led by our Rabbis and Hazzan. Feel free to take a book from the Shabbat Reading Shelf as you enter the Sanctuary. On many Shabbat mornings you will find an adult or family learning opportunity taking place. There is a soundproof privacy room overlooking the Bima (pulpit) for parents with active children not in babysitting.

Shabbat Morning Meditation takes place in the Chapel at 8:32 AM on the second and fourth Shabbat of each month.

Learners’ Minyan is an annual program that introduces Shabbat prayers, meditation, and more.

We have Shabbat Morning programs for children 18 months through 12th grade. Newcomers are welcome:

Havaya for K-4th Grade Families
Havaya K’tana—Kids are invited to this special Shabbat learning program just for them. Havaya K’tana takes place about twice a month at 10-11:30 AM, with childcare before and after. Judaism comes alive for children, while parents enjoy services in the Sanctuary.

Gimel Family Shabbat Service
A newly revamped family-friendly Shabbat morning service is followed by adult discussion on contemporary issues, while the kids enjoy an activity, concluding with Kiddush and snacks.

SHABBAT AFTERNOON
Every Shabbat afternoon join in the warmth of the Mincha service, followed by a light seudah shlisheet meal, singing and Havdalah.

COME TO MINYAN
Daily minyan is held at 7:20 AM and 5:45 PM weekdays, and 9:30 AM and 5:45 PM Sundays and national holidays.

INCLUSION
Adath strives to accommodate the needs of individuals with disabilities. For example, hearing assist devices, bema accessibility, a privacy room adjacent to our Sanctuary, large print prayer books and more.
