Etz Chayim LogoShabbat and Picnic on the Adath Patio
Friday, August 6 ● 6:00 PM

Celebrate summer with an Outdoor Kabbalat Shabbat Service and picnic for all, hosted by Adath’s Etz Chayim Committee. Join us on the patio between the Social Hall and the lake for a beautiful Kabbalat Shabbat service, followed by the picnic.

Bring your own dairy/parve picnic dinner and blanket to sit on. The synagogue will provide challah, grape juice and a cold dessert! The synagogue will also provide biode-gradable or recyclable utensils—or you can bring your own non-disposable utensils.

Weather permitting, we’ll be outdoors; if it rains, we’ll be in the Chapel and the Social Hall.

Join us for Sunday bike rides this summer!

Inspired by Nigel Savage’s recent visit to Adath, and his organization Hazon’s bike rides in Israel and the US, we’re organizing Adath-sponsored summer bike rides. Several guided routes of different levels will depart from Adath on Sunday mornings, for a broad range of riders, from casual to more serious. We’ll meet up at the synagogue afterward for refreshments and fellowship.

Let’s enjoy our Minnesota summer together! Let David Sherman know that you’re interested: contact david@davidshermanphoto.com.

Shabbat Outdoors, Connecting in Our Neighborhoods

Building on the success of the recent Synaplex 101 Dinners, including one huge, lively dinner at a neighborhood park in South Minneapolis attended by sixteen young families, we’re taking it outdoors this summer! Get to know your neighbors and enjoy Shabbat in a beautiful place together. Watch for information about potluck Shabbat dinners in individual neighborhood parks, from Minneapolis to Maple Grove, hosted by Adath members.

Friday, August 6
Outdoor Shabbat on the Adath Patio

We’ll begin with a lively, musical outdoor Kabbalat Shabbat Service on the Adath patio, followed by a congregational picnic-style Shabbat dinner, inside or out, wherever you’re comfortable. Adath’s Etz Chayim Committee is hosting this relaxed event for Adath members of all ages. Watch for details soon.
