Interfaith Conversations Project:
Father Steven McMichael
Shabbat Morning, February 19

We welcome Father Steven McMichael, a Franciscan priest and University of St. Thomas Interfaith Activities Coordinator, to speak to the congregation during the Shabbat Morning Service on Saturday, February 19. Father McMichael‘s visit to Adath Jeshurun is part of a year-long speaker exchange program of the Jay Phillips Center‘s Interfaith Conversations Project, of which Adath is a participant with Pax Christi Catholic Community of Eden Prairie and the Islamic Center of Minnesota.

Father McMichael, OFM Conv., has expertise in both Christian-Jewish and Christian-Muslim relations and has been active in interfaith dialogue groups in Rome, Saint Louis and the Twin Cities. A member of a Catholic order which was founded by St. Francis of Assisi in the 13th century, he serves as an associate professor in the University of St. Thomas theology department, specializing in medieval theology and Franciscan studies. Father McMichael also serves our interfaith partner the Pax Christi Catholic Community.
