Adath Teams with Easy Bean Farm CSA for Weekly Produce Drop Off
Enjoy Fresh Vegetables All Summer and Fall for $20/week!

Etz Chayim, Adath's Environmental Initiative, announces a new partnership with Easy Bean Farm in Milan, Minnesota. Our congregants
may now enjoy fresh organic produce all summer and fall, delivered weekly to the synagogue, to be picked up here. Here's how it works:

Cost: $510 for a full share, $400 for half share (actually 2/3 of full share). We need to purchase 10 full shares to secure an Adath drop-off site. There is a discount for early registration before February 15.

Pick-up: Produce will be dropped off to Adath on Friday mornings by 7:30 am and stored in the Adath kitchen. It must be picked up by 5:30 pm. The season is approximately 18 weeks, from mid-June to October.

The Vegetables: Watch for greens, beans, peas, carrots, tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, onions, radishes, potatoes, squash, corn, broccoli and herbs. Produce follows the season, so expect greens early in the season, corn and hot weather crops later. Easy Bean Farm is not certified organic, but follows organic farming principles.

Your participation helps ICA food shelf: The ICA food shelf in Minnetonka will be a beneficiary of the CSA relationship. Farmer Mike Jacobs will donate produce each week to ICA. In addition, if farm members are out of town or don't think they can consume their full share in a given week, they will have the option to donate extra food to ICA. Whether you choose to purchase a share or not, you can make a difference by giving a donation of any size to help purchase one or more shares to support the ICA foodshelf.

What is CSA? Community Supported Agriculture links farmers with consumers. Your shares are direct investments in sustainable farming practices. In exchange for financial support, shareholders receive a box of vegetables each week. Easy Bean Farm and Adath Jeshurun are both members of Tuv Ha'Aretz, the Jewish CSA movement.
