Etz Chayim - Adath's Environmental Initiative

Committee Initiatives FY 2010-2011

1. Sponsor an annual Tu B'Shevat Oneg Shabbat and Sedar.

2. Continue efforts to reduce waste generation in the synagogue, install recycling containers for paper, glass and cans around the synagogue and implement composting of organic food and waste in the Gan and Adath kitchen.

3. Continue the Adath/Easybean/ICA Foodshelf partnership for a third year to provide Adath families an opportunity to purchase farm shares from Easybean Farm as well as donate farm shares directly to ICA Foodshelf in Minnetonka.

4. Build a community garden on the Adath property. Produce will be used by the Gan and the Adath kitchen and donations to local food shelves.

5. Work with other synagogues and faith-based organizations to expand environmental initiatives beyond the Adath community.
